Recently, the Pyrethrum Biopesticide Industrialization Engineering Technology Research Center, undertaken by Yunnan Nanbao Biotechnology Co., Ltd., has been recognized at the municipal level in Yuxi City. The establishment of this research center will provide technological support for the development of key technologies for plant-based biopesticides such as pyrethrum, enhance production processes and techniques, promote industrial development, and encourage the green growth of the biopesticide industry in our city.

According to Jiang Qijun, a scientific researcher at the center, the research center covers an area of 2,895 square meters, equipped with various instruments and equipment, a 50-acre experimental base, and two experimental greenhouses. It has preserved 140 high-quality germplasm resources and established research and development platforms for variety breeding, plant extraction, and quality testing. The center has a team of 26 scientific and technological personnel with an average age of 39, forming a highly educated and youthful scientific and technological innovation team.

The research center focuses its research on pyrethrum germplasm resources, cultivation techniques, extraction of active ingredients, and industrialized production. To date, it has completed the development and registration of nine new biopesticide products and obtained four invention patents and seven utility model patents. The research outcome, a high-content new type of natural pyrethroid green pesticide development and industrial extension project, won the first prize for scientific and technological progress in Yunnan Province. Over the past three years, the research center has undertaken two national projects, two provincial projects, and three municipal projects, including "Green Manufacturing of 1.5% Pyrethrin Water Emulsifiable Concentrate."

Relying on the scientific and technological achievements of the research center, Nanbao Biology has demonstrated and driven the cultivation of more than 5,000 acres of pyrethrum, achieving an industrial output value of 65 million yuan, sales revenue of 60 million yuan, and increasing farmers' income by more than 15 million yuan.
